^Hey look at that – that’s us exactly – friendly, supportive, innovative, communicative, effective and creative!

Well, we aim to be all those things, and more.  We strive everyday to live up to the high standards we set for ourselves.

Some people want a lawyer who’s going to be a bit of a head-kicker – you know the sort – the tough, no-nonsense, no negotiation type of lawyer.  That’s a valid approach, but it’s not us.  Don’t get us wrong – we’re tough when we need to be, but this is your family we’re talking about and in many cases you’ve got to come out the other side of this able to co-parent for the benefit of your children – so we only pull out the big guns when necessary. We’ll generally try to negotiate or mediate a solution, which generally saves you money.

Of course, it should go without saying that we’re friendly to you too!  You have to be comfortable and completely honest with us so that we can properly advise you, so we hope you’ll find us affable and approachable.

In the same sense, we hope that you’ll find us supportive.  A family breakdown is obviously a difficult time full of major changes and immense tension.  We aim to alleviate as much of that stress as possible by taking some of that pressure off you, keeping you well informed about the progress of your matter, the various potential directions the matter could take, and all the potential outcomes.  We also hope that our focus on personal service will mean that you feel supported along the way.

We think that you’ll find us innovative. We’ve done away with many of the old-fashioned trimmings that you might expect from a law firm – but we think we’ve made a good case for why our way is better.  At the end of the day, what you’re actually paying for is the benefit of a lawyer’s knowledge, skill and experience – and we’ve found a way to cut through all the fluff and give that to you directly.  If you want the flashy offices and teams of paralegals then we’re not the firm for you – but if you want simple, direct, honest and ethical advice and advocacy – then you should choose us.

Since you’re dealing directly with your team of lawyers, you should always feel well-informed and well-connected. We have a series of procedures, like our monthly status updates, to keep the lines of communication open.  Our clients have all of our contact details, including our mobile numbers.  Even though we have set operating hours, we don’t switch off the phones and walk out the door at 5pm – if we’re able to, we’re happy to met or speak with you outside normal business hours.  We’re flexible like that.

Our results speak for themselves.  We are great at what we do and this is demonstrated by our happy clients. Part of being effective is not just getting the end result, but getting there in the most efficient way possible.  We’re constantly thinking about the best strategy and weighing all the options available.  Most importantly, we’ll be honest with you about your chances.  It’s not in our interests or yours to drag you through a doomed case – you’d just end up unhappy and it would wreck our hard-won reputation.

This is where our experience counts.  Say you’ve received an offer to settle your property matter that’s a bit less than what you were hoping for.  Now you could run that matter to trial and maybe get that extra you’re seeking – but how much is it going to cost you to do it?  If you’re just going to spend that on legal costs for the trial then it’s not worth going through all that and you should consider accepting the offer to settle.  This is the sort of practical advice our clients respect us for.

These types of settlement negotiations are also where we can get a bit creative. Shannon and Luke are both lateral thinkers and they often come up with unexpected ways to solve a problem.  This is particularly true when they put their heads together to nut out a case plan and legal argument to get you the best result possible.

All these things add up to what we consider superior customer service.  We hope that you will agree.
